Giving To Alexander Disease Research

While most of our research is funded through competitive grants obtained from the National Institutes of Health, our efforts in developing potential treatments for the the disease have largely been possible through private donations from families, patients, and friends. We are extremely grateful for this support and our achievements in this area show that such donations are worthwhile investments for the future.

You too can help. Donations are made through the University of Wisconsin Foundation, specifying the Alexander Disease Research Fund at the Waisman Center.

The most reliable way to donate is via check. Checks should be made payable to the University of Wisconsin Foundation. In the memo line please write “Waisman Center – Alexander Disease Research”. This designation is essential and ensures that the donation reaches the correct fund.

Checks should be sent to the Director of the Waisman Center, at the following address:

1500 Highland Ave, Rm T201
Madison, WI 53705

The Waisman Center will deposit the check at the UW Foundation. Gifts are tracked as they are received. The Waisman Center as well as the UW Foundation sends appropriate acknowledgments and letters of thanks.

Alternatively, if you prefer to donate via a credit card, you can donate directly to the UW Foundation and Alexander disease research by clicking on the following link:

This link takes you to the secure UW Foundation site, with the necessary account information pre-entered. Please enter your credit card information and the gift amount. If you choose to donate by credit card, it would be helpful if you also send us a note with the date and amount of the donation so that we can track the gift and ensure that it is deposited into the correct fund at the UW Foundation.

Thank you again for your generous support of our research.
